Cairo Art Summit is conceived as a meeting point between disciplines that rarely share the same room. Over three days of keynote lectures, panel discussions, performances, and collective public conversations, the Summit brings together artists, architects, museum leaders, developers, financiers, technologists, and policymakers to examine how culture is both reshaping and actively being reshaped by the cities we live in.
Rather than being curated as a conventional art conference, or panels on the side of an art fair, Cairo Art Summit is a working session for a region undergoing rapid transformation, where heritage, urban development, technology and cultural production create new potentials beyond the habitual.
ملتقى القاهرة للفنون نقطة التقاء بين تخصصات نادرًا ما تجتمع في فضاءٍ واحد. فعلى مدار ثلاثة أيام من الجلسات الحوارية، والعروض الأدائية، والنقاشات العامة المفتوحة، يجمع الملتقى فنانين، ومعماريين، ومديري متاحف، ومطوّرين عقاريين، وممولين، وخبراء في التكنولوجيا، وصنّاع سياسات، لاستكشاف الكيفية التي تُعيد بها الثقافة تشكيل المدن التي نعيش فيها، وفي الوقت ذاته كيف تعيد هذه المدن تشكيل الثقافة نفسها
ملتقى القاهرة للفنون ليس مؤتمرًا تقليديًا.، ولا سلسلة من الجلسات الجانبية المصاحبة لمعرض فني، بل هو مساحة عمل مشتركة لمنطقة تشهد تحولات متسارعة، حيث يلتقي التراث، والتنمية العمرانية، والتكنولوجيا، والإنتاج الثقافي، لفتح آفاق وإمكانات جديدة تتجاوز الأطر والمقاربات المألوفة
Why now?
Cairo has changed profoundly over the past two decades. Historic neighborhoods now sit alongside entirely new urban centers, connected or divided by bridges and overpasses. Museums are redefining their public role, where contemporary art is presented next to antiquities. Technology is reshaping how art is made, financed, and experienced, where DAOs and AI create new institutions. And heritage has become central to how cities imagine their own future, and how they frame their present.
لماذا الآن؟
شهدت القاهرة تحولات عميقة خلال العقدين الماضيين. فأصبحت الأحياء التاريخية تتجاور مع مراكز حضرية جديدة بالكامل، ترتبط أحيانًا وتنفصل أحيانًا أخرى عبر الجسور والمحاور العمرانية. كما تعيد المتاحف اليوم تعريف دورها العام، حيث يُعرض الفن المعاصر إلى جانب الآثار والتراث. وفي الوقت نفسه، تُعيد التكنولوجيا تشكيل طرق إنتاج الفن وتمويله واختباره، مع بروز مؤسسات ونماذج جديدة تقودها تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي والمنظمات اللامركزية. وأصبح التراث عنصرًا محوريًا في الطريقة التي تتخيّل بها المدن مستقبلها، وفي الكيفية التي تؤطر بها حاضرها
The Program
Cairo Art Summit gathers around a set of questions that feel urgent for this moment: how can art and heritage remain living forces rather than static monuments, and what happens when historic neighborhoods are asked to hold both memory and rapid urban growth at once? What role should artists, architects, developers, and technologists play together in shaping the cities we are all becoming part of, and how might museums evolve into spaces for creation rather than simply preservation?
Over three days, these questions will be explored through conversations with a growing group of leading voices, from the region and beyond, among them Dr. Jessica Winegar, Professor of Anthropology at Northwestern University and one of the foremost scholars of contemporary Egyptian art; Hafsa Alkhudairi, Curator of Public Art at the Royal Commission for AlUla and curator of the Saudi Pavilion at the Venice Biennale; Raafat Majzoub, architect, artist, and founder of the Institute of World Making; Mina Noshy, founder of Access Art Space and a leading figure in Egypt's independent contemporary art ecosystem; and Fahad AlObaidly, Director of Design Doha Biennial, alongside artists, architects, museum professionals, technologists, and cultural policymakers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Greece, the United States, and beyond.

تدور قمة القاهرة للفنون حول مجموعة من الأسئلة التي تبدو ملحّة في هذه اللحظة: كيف يمكن للتراث أن يظل قوة حية لا مجرد تذكار، وماذا يحدث حين يُطلب من الأحياء التاريخية أن تتفاعل مع ذاكرة الماضي والنمو العمراني السريع في آن واحد؟ وما الدور الذي ينبغي أن يلعبه الفنانون والمعماريون والمطورون والتقنيون معاً في تشكيل المدن التي أصبحنا جميعاً جزءاً منها، وكيف يمكن للمتاحف و المؤسسات الكبيرة أن تتحول إلى مساحات للإبداع المعاصر و ليست مجرد اماكن للحفظ؟
على مدار ثلاثة أيام، ستُستكشف هذه الأسئلة من خلال حوارات مع مجموعة من الأصوات البارزة، من بينها د. جيسيكا واينغار، أستاذة الأنثروبولوجيا بجامعة نورثويسترن وإحدى أبرز الباحثات في الفن المصري المعاصر؛ وحفصة الخضيري، أمينة الفن بالمساحات العامة بالهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا وأمينة الجناح السعودي في بينالي البندقية؛ ورأفت مجذوب، المعماري والفنان ومؤسس معهد تشكيل العالم؛ ومينا نصحي، مؤسسة أكسس آرت سبيس؛ وفهد العبيدلي، مدير بينالي الدوحة للتصميم، إلى جانب فنانين ومعماريين ومتخصصين في المتاحف وتقنيين وصناع سياسات ثقافية من مصر والسعودية ولبنان واليونان والولايات المتحدة وغيرها
